Accompaniment

The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center trains and certifies Sexual Assault Counselors to provide confidential support. Sexual Assault Counselors or “advocates” are certified to provide confidential and privileged services and communication to victims/survivors of sexual assault (California Evidence Code 1035.4).
Survivors choose the services that work best for them, including accompaniment to Sexual Assault Forensic Exams, law enforcement interviews, and other settings where a survivor may choose to have an advocate present (California Penal Code 679.04).
If you would like an advocate to assist you in reporting to law enforcement or to accompany you during any process, contact us. We are here to provide the support you deserve.
