2023 was a year filled with hopeful new beginnings and loving returns!
Our team worked tirelessly, rain or shine, attending various local events throughout Monterey County, such as community resource fairs, health fairs, school spirit days, and National Night Out events. Some other memorable events included the UNA Human Rights Luncheon, Adelante Con Orgullo Mujer Inmigrante (ACOMI), Greenfield Unified School District Collaborative, various Cafectios throughout Salinas schools, Alisal Unified School District Resource Fair, and many more. We also presented to various organizations, schools, colleges, and businesses throughout the year in both English and Spanish. Don’t forget to invite us to your event or request a presentation from our team in 2024!
This year, MCRCC brought back the famous Cup of Awareness campaign to our community where we collaborated with many local coffee shops eager to show their support for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). With April being one of our busiest months, it demonstrated how compassionate our community is towards our mission. Our Voice Club members made huge impacts in their local high schools, sharing information about SAAM and Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAPM).
As MCRCC celebrated its 50th anniversary, serving survivors of sexual violence, child abuse, and human trafficking, we transitioned from our Together with Love Run to our new Together with Love Dinner. This event brought together many community members committed to preventing and ending violence in Monterey County.
We are tremendously thankful to everyone who supported our agency's mission in 2023. We hope you enjoy our video showcasing the outstanding community collaboration and awareness that we aim to continue in the new year. Happy Holidays!
